Jim MacMillan has over 26 years of experience in high technology engineering, management and innovation. Jim’s background is particularly broad, ranging from hardware, software and system engineering and development, to product management and technical sales support. This experience was gained by working in the defense and telecommunications industries.
As an innovator, Jim’s study of artificial intelligence during his graduate studies resulted in unique applications of neural networks as applied to optimization problems (for planning and scheduling), and the invention of perceptual grammar for sensor scheduling and data fusion. Jim served as CTO of Astracon -a venture-fund telecom start-up and as a Senior Solutions Architect at Evolving Systems.
Prior to Hughes Aircraft - where Jim was an Engineering Director, he served as an officer in the United States Army Signal Corps. He holds a BSEE from University of Nebraska and an MSEE from the University of Colorado at Denver and has completed his PhD course requirements in Math and Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines.
